Do You Suffer From Pain & Discomfort During Bowel Movement?
Did You Notice Blood Stains On Your Stool?
If YES, then you might be suffering from hemorrhoids!
What are hemorrhoids?
The veins present in the anal region are very sensitive and they send the message about bowel movements. When you strain or put a lot of pressure on your anal region during bowel movement, these veins get damaged and as result they swell and get inflamed.
The blood present in these veins gets collected and forms a kind of a clot. These swollen and inflamed veins are called hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids are also known as piles and it is a very common problem that affects almost 80% of the population at some point in their life.
There are basically two types of hemorrhoids:
- Internal Hemorrhoids.
- External Hemorrhoids.
NOTE – People can get both these types of hemorrhoids at the same time.
Internal Hemorrhoids
When you develop the hemorrhoids inside your rectum, they are called internal hemorrhoids. They are usually pain-less but you might see blood stains on stool, toilet paper and toilet bowl.
It does not effect the usual life of the patient but treatment of the internal hemorrhoids is very important because if they are left untreated, they might develop into more serious hemorrhoids.
External Hemorrhoids
When you develop hemorrhoids under the skin around the anus region, they are called external hemorrhoids. They are extremely painful and cause a lot of discomfort. During bowel movement or sitting, it causes a lot of pain and bleeding is also very common in this condition.
They look like a lump and you can see them with the help of a mirror because they are just outside the anus.
The external hemorrhoids generally contain mucus in them that causes itching. This type of hemorrhoids need immediate treatment.
